Construction worker struck in face by tension rod on Miami job site

A construction worker was injured Thursday when he was hit in the face by a tension rod on a job site in Miami. Officials said the man was on the ninth floor of the building at 3201 Northeast First Ave. when the tension rod snapped. Since there are not any elevators in the structure, a crane was used to lower the man to fire rescue personnel. No other details were immediately released. Teenager injured after wall collapses in North Miami

A teenage boy was injured Thursday after a wall collapsed in North Miami. Brian Pierre's brother said they were walking near a 5-foot wall in the area of Northeast 18th Avenue and 146th Street when a concrete block came tumbling down.
